New CD

Alexander Schimpf's new solo CD was just finished and will be released in January 2015 in cooperation with the German label OehmsClassics. Once again, piano works by three composers are combined: Johannes Brahms, Claude Debussy, and Ludwig van Beethoven. Further information coming soon! 
 


 

New recital dates in Germany and the United States

During the coming months, Alexander Schimpf will perform solo recitals in Chicago, Munich, Cleveland, Washington, D.C., and at the Elmau Castle in Bavaria.

US Concert Tours 2014

In early 2014, Alexander Schimpf will be on tour again twice in the United States. He will play solo recitals among others in Boston, Sarasota/FL, and Chicago, and perform as soloist in piano concertos by Beethoven, Brahms, Tchaikovsky, and Schumann. More details at "Concerts"!
 


 

Debut at Munich Philharmonic Hall
On December 29th, Alexander Schimpf will perform two piano concertos by L. v. Beethoven in the Great Hall of "Philharmonie am Gasteig" in Munich. He will be accompanied by the Prague Philharmonia Orchestra under the direction of Olivier Tardy.

Bavarian State Award for Alexander Schimpf
In November, Alexander Schimpf will be awarded the "Bavarian State Award for the Advancement of Arts" 2013.

Recital Tour to Italy

First Prize Cleveland International Piano Competition
Alexander Schimpf was awarded the First Prize at the International Cleveland Piano Competition 2011 in Cleveland/Ohio (USA). In the final round, he performed Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 4 with the Cleveland Orchestra under the baton of Christopher Wilkins.
